Today my sister became a great grandma, how bout them apples! Where the time goes I'll never know.Congrats to all. This little person doesn't even know she's being blogged about.

Adoption

Its funny that my friend Amy should bring up the subject of adoption because I've just been looking into my dad's adoption. He's always been alittle insecure about it and he never said he wanted to find out about his birth mother but just lately I ran across the papers that my grandmother left him and I 'm very all of a sudden interested in the information I found out. I only wish we had looked into it before we left California, it would have been sooo much easier. I went to the church history bldg downtown to try and enlist their help but we didn't really find anything out. I guess if I really wanted to find out anything I would have to pay someone who knows what they're doing to do it for me. But I'm really curious now. I know where he was born, I know which adoption agency adopted him out to my grandparents, I even know his birth mothers address at the time. I just can't put it all together to find any living relatives. They didn't keep very good records in those days, I'm appalled frankly but that is the way it was. I wish he had asked about it sooner, I would have liked to know his family history and maybe meet some relatives. It saddens me to think there might have been siblings or at least other family. On the other hand, I don't know what I might have found, the situation that he came from sounded kind of grim.????

The Election of 2008

When the election process started 2 years ago I thought I would tear my hair out with the endless talk on Sunday morning political programs and all the "debates". It was mind numbing, the way people promised us everything from A-Z, mostly they promised they knew how to fix things better than the next guy. An then there was Hillary!UGH! And at first I thought to my self "I'll be darned if my President is going to have a middle name of Hussein". But the more I heard hem speak, watched his calmness and heard his thoughts on each subject the more I studied him and began to l-i-k-e the man. And in the end I was so proud that the election process actually worked to elect the first honest man in the white house(as far as I'm concerned) in more than 50 years, and a black man at that, that I was proud to be and American again. I haven't been so proud in more than eight years. No matter what you think of President Obama, at least I believe that he honestly will try to do the best he can. I don't know that any one man CAN fix all the problems that we as a nation have on our plate because of the idiots we call congress, but he's the only one I've seen in my 58 years to really try and pull help out of both sides. And you must remember he was left this mess by a certain George W. Bush thank you very much. Thats about all I have to say on the subject(go Barack). Only time will tell if he was a good President.

This Halloween at RMAP was certainly "special". There was a motly crew of withches, the scary guy with white face from Scary movie {Bette}, a ladybug{Britney},I brought my witch costume but never quite got into it. The wig would have gotten in the way of everything. We had a basketball player who looked alot like Carly. Andrea was the best looking and best dressed witch. She is the "good" witch and "bad" all rolled into one. I will get into my witch costume at home tonight to hand out trick or treats. Hopefully I can get a picture up next week. Happy treating!

My sister's 50th wedding Anniversary

My sister Judy and her husband Gerry Weber had their 50th wedding anniversary in grand style. They had it decorated with flowing material covering the ceiling of cultural hall and down the sides so that you couldn't tell it was a cultural hall, entwined with tiny lights, it was like a twinkling Golden theme instead of Christmas. Every table centerpiece was a treasure chest, hopefully pictures will follow. They had a lovely family program and all her "Parker" relatives were there, which made the occasion a night enjoyed by the "whole" family. My sister and her husband are so busy now, and Gerry just turned 70, they obviously don't have any thoughts of "retirement". Kudos .
My brother Howard and his wife JoLynn also had their 43rd wedding anniversay in the September also. September has always been a big month for shared anniversaries.

I have been kept busy, not of my own choice, attending to my eyes. More specifically my right retina which chose on its own to detach itself from my eyeball not once but twice. So, I've been to surgery twice, once in August and again in October. We don't know the outcome of the last one yet, except to say that I can't see out of the right eye and its very frustrating.
